The market closed with gains amid fluctuations throughout the day. Nifty closed 51 points higher at 23,567. Sensex closed 141 points higher at 77,478 and Nifty Bank closed 385 points higher at 51,783. Metal stocks registered the highest gains. Hindalco, Grasim, JSW Steel, BPCL, Adani Ports were the top gainers on Nifty.
