The Indian stock market closed with a slight decline on Thursday. The Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex closed at 79,897 today with a slight decline of 0.03 percent or 27.43 points. At the time of market closing, out of the 30 stocks of Sensex, 15 stocks closed in the green and 15 in the red. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty closed at 24,315 today with a very slight decline of 0.03 percent or 8.50 points. At the time of market closing, out of the 50 stocks of Nifty, 28 stocks were in the green, 21 stocks in the red and 1 stock was unchanged.
These stocks were in a boom
The highest gains among Nifty pack stocks today were recorded in ONGC at 2.40%, Coal India at 2.20%, BPCL at 2.13%, ITC at 1.58% and Tata Motors at 1.56%. On the other hand, the highest decline was recorded in Tata Consumer at 1.79%. Apart from this, Bajaj Finance declined by 1.36%, Divis Lab by 1.19%, Mahindra & Mahindra by 1.17% and Sun Pharma by 0.85%.
Status of sectoral indices
Talking about sectoral indices, the highest gain today was recorded in Nifty Oil & Gas at 1.10%. Apart from this, Nifty Consumer Durables rose by 0.60 percent, Nifty Private Bank by 0.16 percent, Nifty PSU Bank by 0.17 percent, Nifty Media by 1.03 percent, Nifty IT by 0.14 percent, Nifty FMCG by 0.28 percent and Nifty Bank by 0.16 percent. Apart from this, Nifty Auto fell by 0.18 percent, Nifty Pharma by 0.60 percent, Nifty Realty by 1.49 percent, Nifty Healthcare Index fell by 0.65 percent and Nifty Midsmall Healthcare fell by 0.34 percent.
