Some Democrats are presenting a bleak picture of the party’s prospects in the presidential election.

However, a senior Democratic Party official said that some people in the party are assuming that Biden’s withdrawal from the race is “inevitable”.

A survey by CBS News, a BBC affiliate in the US, shows that Biden is five points behind Trump. This is the biggest gap so far during the campaign.

But Biden’s campaign has ignored the concerns being expressed among some top leaders of the Democratic Party.

Biden has also termed these concerns as baseless. He has said that he will not give up the candidature.

According to the ‘Washington Post’, former President Barack Obama has privately said that Biden’s chances of winning the presidential election have diminished.
