Consensus reached between Hamas and Fatah, both sides ended their differences in China like this

Beijing: Palestine’s rival groups Hamas and Fatah have signed a declaration in Beijing to end their differences that have been going on for years. China’s state media gave this information on Tuesday. However, it did not give any further details regarding the agreement between the two sides. According to state broadcaster CCTV, both Palestine’s rival groups have signed the Beijing Declaration to “end differences and strengthen Palestinian unity”.

Talks held many times before

Why did China host unity talks between Fatah and Hamas?

Hamas and Fatah have talked about working together many times before, but they did not succeed in it. The news of the signing of the declaration between the two rival groups comes at a time when US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas seems to be reaching an agreement.

Important role of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi
Chinese television channel CGTN said in a post on social media platform Weibo that the two rival Palestinian groups met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi along with 12 other political factions, concluding talks that began on Sunday.

Hamas drove out Fatah fighters
Several rounds of unity talks have taken place between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority after Hamas drove out Fatah fighters from the Gaza Strip and took over the region during a violent conflict in 2007. However, the confrontation between the two groups over power and the West’s refusal to recognize any government that includes Hamas in Palestine have dealt a blow to efforts to establish peace and unity in the region.
