China and Russian fighter jets seen in Alaska Air Defense Zone, US sends fighter jets to the spot

Washington: The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said on Wednesday that it saw two Chinese and Russian fighter jets equipped with bombs near the coast of Alaska. They sent their fighter planes to the spot to stop these planes. The North American Aerospace Defense Command said that it detected two Russian TU-95 and two Chinese H-6 military aircraft, which were operating in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

NORAD said that fighter jets from Canada and America together stopped four planes from China and Russia. The command said that these planes did not enter the airspace of America or Canada. But, continued to fly in international airspace. According to The Hill report, the command said that no suspicious activities have been seen from the side of Chinese and Russian planes. The command said that it will continue to monitor near North America.

Aircraft have to identify themselves
The North American Aerospace Defense Command said, “Any other aircraft in the Air Defense Identification Zone must identify themselves. According to the command, this is an international airspace, which requires identification of all aircraft in the interest of national security.” Earlier in May, the command said that it was detecting four Russian military aircraft operating in the Alaska ADIZ. At that time they said that this activity occurs regularly and is not seen as a threat.
