So far you must have unlocked your phone using various methods like password, PIN, Touch ID, Face ID, fingerprint sensor, but this feature of Apple can surprise you. Apple has tested a new biometric feature for its devices like iPhone, Mac. This feature will be linked to your heartbeat i.e. you can unlock iPhone, Mac or iPad with your heart rate.

According to the new report of Apple Insider, Apple is working on ECG i.e. heart rate based biometric feature for its devices. This feature can be found in your iPhone, iPad and Mac soon. This new feature will be based on the unique rhythm of your heartbeat to Apple’s device. iPhone, iPad or Mac will be unlocked as soon as your heart rhythm matches.

According to the report, every person’s heartbeat beats with a unique rhythm. Just like biometric i.e. fingerprint sensor, heartbeats can be used to unlock the device. The rhythm of heartbeats can be monitored through the ECG app given in Apple Watch. Apple can use this unique rhythm of heartbeats as the identity of the user.

Will work with Apple Watch

This new technology will work when you link Apple Watch with your iPhone or other device. Users wearing Apple Watch will be able to unlock their device through the rhythm of heartbeats using the ECG app.

If the report is to be believed, this new technology will provide an additional layer of security in iPhone, iPad or Mac. Users will now be able to unlock their device through face unlock or fingerprint and password as well as heart rate rhythm. However, there is no official information available as to when this technology will be brought commercially.
