Bus full of passengers collides with pole in Turkey, 9 people killed and 26 injured

 

Ankara: A bus travelling between two cities in Turkey veered off the main highway and collided with a pole on Friday. This killed 9 people on board. While at least 26 others were injured. Governor Vasip Sahin told Haberturk television station that the accident took place near the city of Polatli, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) from the capital Ankara. The bus was going from the city of Izmir in western Turkey to the city of Agri in the east of the country. But it collided with a pole of an overpass near the highway.

 

The collision was so terrible that the bus was also shattered. The death of 9 passengers caused chaos at the spot. Apart from the local people, police and relief teams later reached the spot. The injured were taken to the hospital. Due to this tragic accident, one side of the highway had to be closed. No reason for the accident could be known immediately. There is no information about the condition of the injured passengers. It has just been told that the injured have been taken to hospitals in Polatli and Ankara.

 

The number of passengers in the bus is also unknown

 

It is not yet known how many passengers were in total in the bus that met with the accident. But it is being estimated that this bus was big. In such a situation, at least 40 to 50 passengers could be present in it. All the passengers have been taken to the hospital by ambulance.
