Vice President Kamala Harris has accepted the Democrats’ candidacy at the Democrats National Convention. During this, she vowed to become the president of all Americans. Harris said in her address that she is committed to a “peaceful transfer of power”. After accepting the candidacy, Kamala Harris has become the second woman leader of the Democratic Party to become a presidential candidate.

Harris said, “On behalf of the people, on behalf of every American, regardless of party, race, or language, on behalf of my mother and all those who started their impossible journey, on behalf of the Americans with whom I grew up, who work hard, pursue their dreams and take care of each other, on behalf of all those whose story can only be written in the greatest nation on earth, I accept the candidacy.”
Kamala clarified her stand on Russia-Ukraine war
Harris (59), who came on stage to accept the candidacy at Chicago’s ‘United Center’, said that impossible journeys are nothing new for her. Harris said that her opponent Donald Trump is not a calm and serious person. Expressing her commitment to support Ukraine in the war with Russia, she said that if she is elected President, she will stand firmly with Ukraine and its allies of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Harris’s mother Shyamala Gopalan was Indian and her father Donald Jasper Harris was a Jamaican citizen. If Harris is elected, she will be the first woman president of America.
