UP: Good news for students of Sanskrit schools and colleges, Yogi government increased scholarship

The Yogi Adityanath government has increased the scholarship of students of Sanskrit schools and colleges after 24 years. Let us tell you that the last time the scholarship was revised was in 2001. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday. In this meeting, many important decisions were taken for the progress and public welfare of the state.

The Uttar Pradesh government has also decided to give scholarships to all the students studying in more than 500 Sanskrit schools across the state. With this new decision, the condition of the students’ family income being less than Rs 50,000 per annum to get scholarship has been abolished.

Yogi government increased scholarship for Sanskrit schools and colleges

After the meeting, Secondary Education Minister Gulab Devi said, “Since most of the children receiving Sanskrit education are from the poor section, now a provision has been made to give scholarships to the students of Prathama i.e. class 6, 7 and 8 under Sanskrit education.” He said that at present there are 517 Sanskrit schools in the state, in which 1,21,573 students are studying.

Scholarship increased after 24 years

Rs 50 per month for class 6 and 7 (First)

Rs 75 per month for class 8

Rs 100 per month for class 9 and 10 (Purva Madhyama)

Rs 150 per month for class 11 and 12 (Uttar Madhyama)

Rs 200 per month for Shastri

Rs 250 per month for Acharya

According to reports, 14 proposals were presented in the UP Cabinet meeting today and 13 were approved. Among these, the Cabinet approved the Maintenance Policy 2024 for the operation of piped drinking water supply schemes in rural areas under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The aim of this policy is to manage the maintenance of villages where water supply work has been completed.
