Jio has made many announcements in Reliance AGM 2024 held today. The company has introduced JioTV OS to spoil the game of companies like Samsung, LG. Now watching high quality content on TV is going to be cheaper than before. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has also announced the country’s first smart TV operating system as well as Jio TV+ set-top box. Both these products of Jio are going to compete with the personalized operating system and digital TV service of big tech companies.
What is so special in JioTV OS?
Apps like JioCinems, JioStore, JioGames can be easily accessed in Jio’s smart TV operating system.
This smart TV OS will have access to Hello Jio voice assistant feature, through which users will be able to operate the remote through voice commands.
OTT apps like Amazon Prime Vide, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar can be accessed on Jio’s TV OS. This smart TV operating system will be equipped with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos as well as 4K HDR feature.
JioTV OS will provide access to inbuilt JioTV+, through which users will be able to access more than 860 live TV. All these channels can be accessed in HD i.e. high definition. Users will not have to take a separate digital TV connection.
Major announcements made
In the 47th AGM of Reliance, the company’s chairman Mukesh Ambani has also announced AI enabled cloud service. While announcing the Jio Cloud AI service, the company has promised to give 100GB of cloud storage to the users for free. Users will be able to store their photos, videos, documents and other digital content in this AI based cloud service. The company has also promised that AI service will be made available to customers at a lower cost than the competition.
