Air India said on X handle that flight number AI-183 has been diverted to Krasnoyarsk International Airport (UNKL) in Russia due to technical reasons. According to the information, the plane has landed safely and airline officials are working with the concerned authorities to ensure the care of passengers and guests until it takes off again. All passengers are said to be safe.
The flight had to be diverted a year ago too
Earlier, the Delhi-SFO AI flight of June 6, 2023 was diverted to the Russian port city of Magadan after a malfunction in one of the B777-200LR engines. About 230 people on board this aircraft were evacuated from Magadan after waiting for 39 hours. The Boeing 777 took off from Delhi at 3.44 pm on Thursday.
