Deir al-Balah: The Israeli army has ordered people to vacate the part of the Gaza Strip that it had declared a humanitarian zone. The army said on Monday that it plans to launch an operation against Hamas terrorists who are hiding in this area. According to the army, this area has been used to launch rockets towards Israel. This area includes the eastern part of the Muwasi humanitarian area which is located in the southern Gaza Strip. Such an order has been given by the Israeli army during delicate talks demanding a ceasefire.

18 lakh Palestinians are in the humanitarian zone

Let us tell you that, earlier this month, Israel said that it estimates that at least 18 lakh Palestinians are now in the humanitarian zone. It had declared a part of about 14 kilometers (8.6 miles) along the Mediterranean Sea as a humanitarian zone. The United Nations and humanitarian groups say that most of the area is now surrounded by temporary camps where sanitation and medical facilities are lacking.

Agreement can be reached soon

US and Israeli officials have expressed hope that an agreement on a ceasefire is close. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said that a negotiating team will be sent on Thursday to continue the talks. Egypt, Qatar and the US are insisting on Israel and Hamas to reach a ceasefire agreement in a phased manner.

The Israeli army also said on Monday that its operation in central and southern Gaza is continuing. According to hospital officials, at least 15 people, including women and children, were killed in Israeli air strikes in Gaza on Sunday.
