Beijing: China on Tuesday strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Pakistan’s troubled Balochistan province. China said during this time that it will continue to support Pakistan’s anti-terrorism campaign. 37 people were killed in these terrorist attacks in Pakistan. Condemning the attacks carried out by Baloch gunmen, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said in a daily press conference that China firmly opposes all forms of terrorism and firmly supports Pakistan to intensify the anti-terrorism campaign, maintain social unity and stability and protect the people.
Chinese personnel have also been targeted
Lin said that China is willing to further strengthen anti-terrorism and security cooperation with Pakistan to maintain peace and security in the region. The two major attacks in restive Balochistan come at a time when a top Chinese military official is visiting Pakistan for a security assessment, particularly to review the security of the USD 60 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The multi-project corridor is facing opposition from the Baloch people and has been under frequent attacks. Chinese personnel working on various projects in Balochistan have also been targeted.
