Chief Minister Vijay Sharma reached Koni on Tuesday to inspect the Adarsh ITI. Koni’s Adarsh ITI has the distinction of being the first ITI in the continent of Asia. The students who have studied from this institute are working in different parts of the country and the world today. It was established in the year 1939-40 during the British rule. Currently, about 1200 students are studying here under different trades.
Deputy CM arrived to visit Asia’s first ITI: Vijay Sharma inspected different departments and talked to the students studying there. The Deputy CM also held a meeting with the officials regarding the development of the institute. He also instructed the officials to prepare an action plan to restore the dignity of this ancient institute by taking advice from the public representatives.
It is recognized as Asia’s first ITI, so efforts should be made to preserve it as a heritage building. The institute premises should be cleaned from time to time. Arrangements should also be made to provide employment to the children taking training from here. – Vijay Sharma, Deputy CM
Deputy CM took feedback from students: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister Vijay Sharma, who is looking after the responsibility of Technical Education Department, said that “There is a need to build another hostel for the convenience of the children.” At present, there are only two hostel facilities for 125 students, which is very less. The Deputy CM has also given instructions to start mess facility in both the hostels. Vijay Sharma said that there is also a need to open new trades as per the demand of the time.
