The troubles of former chief of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI Faiz Hameed seem to be increasing. Action has been taken against Faiz Hameed under the provisions of the Pakistan Army Act. According to the information given by ISPR, Faiz Hameed has been taken into military custody. Faiz Hameed’s name had surfaced in the Top City Housing Scheme case. Following the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, a team of the Pakistani Army had investigated to find out the complaints made against former Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed in the Top City Housing Scheme case, in which several cases have come to light against Faiz Ahmed.

‘Court martial proceedings started’

A press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that former Pakistan intelligence chief Faiz Hameed has been taken into custody. The ISPR said, “Apart from this, several cases of violation of Pakistan Army Act have also come to light after the retirement of Faiz Ahmed. Disciplinary action has been initiated against retired Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed. This is the first time that court martial proceedings have been initiated against a former intelligence chief of Pakistan.

In its written order issued on November 14, 2023 last year, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had said that there are allegations of “extremely serious nature” against retired Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed. If the allegations are proved to be true, they will damage the reputation of the country’s armed forces, ISI and Pakistan Rangers, so they cannot be ignored. The management of Top City Housing had made serious allegations against the former ISI chief, claiming that he had raided the offices and houses of its owner Moiz Khan. After which in November 2023, the Supreme Court had asked the owner of the housing society to contact the concerned departments including the Ministry of Defense to settle his complaints against Faiz Hameed and his associates.
