Hamas fighters took out a parade in Gaza City, top leader appeared for the first time

Gaza City: After 11 days of fighting with Israel, Hamas fighters on Saturday showed their power by waving rifles in Gaza City and the group’s top leader appeared in public for the first time. Saturday was the first day of a complete ceasefire. During this time, Egyptian negotiators held talks to make the ceasefire sustainable.

During the 11-day war, Israel carried out air strikes targeting hundreds of Hamas bases in Gaza, while Hamas and other militant groups fired more than four thousand rockets towards Israel. During this time more than 250 people died, most of whom were Palestinians. Both Israel and Hamas are claiming their respective victories.

On Saturday, hundreds of Hamas fighters wearing military uniforms took out a parade and mourned the death of their senior commander Basim Isa during the fighting. Hamas’ top leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, appeared in public for the first time since the fighting began.
