Jerusalem: The Israeli army has ordered all Palestinians to vacate ‘Gaza City’ and move towards the south. This information has been given by the Israeli army. The Israeli army has launched fresh attacks in the north, south and center of the war-torn region in which dozens of people have been killed in the last 48 hours. The increase in military activities has come at a time when mediators from the US, Egypt and Qatar were meeting with Israeli officials in Doha, the capital of Qatar, to take forward the long-pending ceasefire agreement with Gaza’s Hamas terrorist group.
Gaza City will remain a war zone
The Israeli army dropped leaflets in the city, calling on people to move south and saying, “Gaza City will remain a dangerous war zone.” Earlier, 20 Palestinians, including six children and three women, were killed in Israeli airstrikes in central Gaza early Wednesday, some of whom were inside the so-called ‘safe zone’ declared by the Israeli army. These deadly attacks were carried out for the second consecutive night on the central city of Deir al-Balah and the refugee camps around it.
Targeting Hamas terrorists
Israel says it is targeting Hamas terrorists regrouping in different parts of Gaza after 9 months of military attack, but heavy attacks across the region in recent days may also be aimed at increasing pressure on Hamas amid ceasefire efforts. Israel had also ordered residents of northern Gaza, including Gaza City, to move south months ago as it was conducting military operations in the northern region. Yet millions of Palestinians remain in the worst-hit northern region, and many Palestinians say they have nowhere to go. Gaza City is among the areas targeted at the start of the war and is now being attacked again.
