Port Louis: The Indian Jan Aushadhi project has started to be famous not only in India but also abroad. The Indian Jan Aushadhi Center, which provides cheap generic medicines to patients across the country, has now been expanded to Mauritius. Under this, the first Indian Jan Aushadhi Center has been opened in Mauritius, which will provide life saving medicines to the people there at cheap rates. PM Modi had promised to open this center. After this, now Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has inaugurated the first foreign Jan Aushadhi Center in Mauritius.
Let us tell you that Jaishankar was in Mauritius on a two-day visit from 16 to 17 July. During this, this Jan Aushadhi Center with cheap medicines was dedicated to the people of Mauritius. Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jagannath was also present on the occasion of the inauguration. The inauguration of India’s first overseas Jan Aushadhi Kendra with Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jagannath is a testimony to the “close cooperation between the two countries, especially in the important area of health”, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement. Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been set up to make affordable generic medicines available to all.
Jaishankar said PM Modi fulfilled the promise
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said in a post on ‘X’, “It is a pleasure to inaugurate the first overseas Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Mauritius with Prime Minister Kumar Jagannath. This medicine center has been started under the promise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” He said, “Under the India-Mauritius Health Partnership Project, affordable, made in India medicines will be supplied to improve public healthcare.”
