Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has presented a cheque of Rs 10 crore and a car to Arshad Nadeem, who won gold medal for Pakistan in Paris Olympics. At present, Arshad has become a sensation in Pakistan and rewards are being showered on him from all sides. Olympic javelin throw champion Arshad Nadeem has been rewarded with one crore rupees and a new car by the Punjab government. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz went to Mian Chunnu village to meet Nadeem and his family.

Maryam Nawaz praised Nadeem

On reaching the village, Maryam Nawaz presented Nadeem with a cash prize and car keys. During this, she said, “Arshad deserves everything he is getting because he has brought a lot of happiness and pride to the country.” When the Chief Minister handed over the keys of the new car with 92.97 number plate to Nadeem, his parents were also present there. Nadeem won the gold medal in Paris with an Olympic record of 92.97 meters.

Nadeem’s coach also got the reward

During this, the ‘Deputy Commissioner’ who accompanied Maryam Nawaz said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the paperwork related to the cheque and the car was completed in record time because she wanted to meet Nadeem. He said, “The Chief Minister had also ordered for a special number plate.” Before returning to Lahore, Maryam also gave a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to Nadeem’s coach Salman Iqbal Butt. Nadeem had ended Pakistan’s 40-year drought of gold medal in the Olympics.

Apart from this, a Pakistani businessman has also decided to gift a car to Arshad Nadeem. Arshad Nadeem’s father-in-law, Muhammad Nawaz, while talking to the local media had said that he would gift a buffalo to Arshad.
