This mall located in Kostiantynivka in the eastern Donetsk region is located in a residential area of ​​the city. After the attack, thick black smoke was seen rising above it. Donetsk regional chief Vadim Filyashkin said in a Telegram post, “This is another targeted attack on a crowded place and another act of terrorist action by Russia.”

Security forces sent to Kursk region

Russia’s Defense Ministry said additional forces were being sent to the Kursk region to counter the cross-border infiltration by Ukrainian troops. News agency RIA-Novosti quoted the Defense Ministry as saying that Russia was deploying several rocket launchers, artillery and tanks. Kursk’s acting governor Alexei Smirnov said on Telegram, “The situation in the Kursk region remains difficult.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday described the infiltration as a “large-scale provocation.” Putin held a meeting with his top defense and security officials to discuss what he called “indiscriminate shelling of civilian buildings, residential buildings, ambulances with various types of weapons.”
