New Delhi: The US Deputy Secretary of State has reached Delhi today. During this, he met India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. Jaishankar has shared the picture of the meeting on his social media account. Jaishankar wrote that it was nice to meet US Deputy Secretary of State Richard R. Verma in Delhi today. During this, there was a discussion on continuing the pace of bilateral relations. Also exchanged views on some regional and global issues.

Verma has come to India on a 5-day visit from August today. During this, he will hold talks on supporting the prosperous, secure and resilient future of both the countries and taking it further. The aim of America is to make its strategic relations with India the strongest to stop the increasing bullying of China in the South China Sea.
Ahead of his arrival, a US State Department statement said that top Indian-American diplomat R Verma will lead a US delegation to India from August 17 to 22 to meet senior government officials, climate leaders, aerospace academics and industry representatives to advance US-India partnership on issues including economic growth, clean energy and climate action. It said Verma will be accompanied in India by John Podesta, Senior Advisor to the President for International Climate Policy, and David Turk, Deputy Secretary of the US Department of Energy. He was on a visit to Nepal before coming to India.
