Kathmandu: A plane of Nepal’s private airline ‘Buddha Air’ slipped on the runway while landing in Lumbini province on Thursday night. According to a media report, there were 59 people on board the plane. There is no news of any passenger being injured in the incident. ‘Kathmandu Post’ newspaper quoted Rupandehi District Police Spokesperson Manohar Prasad Bhatta as saying that ‘Buddha Air’ flight number 805 got stuck in the mud while landing at Gautam Buddha Airport in Siddharthnagar of Lumbini province on Thursday night, after which it slipped off the runway.

After the accident, all 59 passengers on board the plane, including four crew members, were evacuated safely. Police said that the plane is on the runway and the airport is currently closed. ‘Buddha Air’ is a private airline of Lalitpur. It operates domestic flights within Nepal as well as international flights to India, mainly Varanasi.

Meanwhile, let us also tell you here that, more than 50 passengers are reported missing after two buses were swept away in a swollen river after being hit by a landslide in Nepal early Friday morning. Seven Indians have died in the accident. Relief and rescue teams have reached the spot. Local people are also helping the administration to rescue the people drowned in the river. According to the information, a total of 63 people including the bus drivers were on board the two buses.

Passengers informed the police

According to the information received from the police, the buses were going to the capital Kathmandu. The names of both these buses were Angel and Ganapati Deluxe Bus. The buses came under the grip of a landslide due to which the accident happened. According to the police, they got information about this accident from the passengers on these buses. These passengers saved their lives by swimming after the bus fell into the river and later informed the police about the incident
