Lumbini was included in the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1997. But now this decision has been taken by the World Heritage Council a day after the investigation of Stonehenge, Avebury and Associated Sites (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland). After this, it was decided not to put this world heritage site, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, in the list of endangered heritage sites of the world.
