Bank Holidays: The state government has given good news to the bank employees of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has approved leave for the officers and employees working in the banking sector under the “negotiable instruments act, 1881” on the occasion of Rakshabandhan on 19 August and Shri Krishna Janmashtami on 26 August. The bank employees’ organizations had demanded from Chief Minister Dr. Yadav to provide leave to the officers and employees of the banks to celebrate the festival of Rakshabandhan and Shri Krishna Janmashtami like other employees of the state.

Banks will remain closed across the country on 15 August

15 August i.e. Thursday is Independence Day. On this occasion, banks will remain closed across the country. Apart from this, there will be no work in the stock market on 15 August. Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange will remain closed.

15 August (Thursday) – All banks in India will remain closed on account of Independence Day/Parsi New Year (Shahenshahi).

18 August – Banks will remain closed on Sunday and will observe a weekly holiday across the country.

19 August (Monday) – Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Gujarat, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh on account of Rakshabandhan/Jhula Purnima/Bir Vikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur’s Birthday.

20 August (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Kerala on account of Sri Narayana Guru Jayanti.
