iPhone maker Foxconn’s business in India crosses $10 billion, know how much investment has been made

Foxconn, which produces iPhones on contract, has crossed $10 billion in India by 2024. Company chairman Young Liu gave this information. According to the company, Foxconn has so far invested $1.4 billion in India. Liu said, “As of last year, we have done a business of more than $10 billion. We will do a lot more in the coming year.” He was speaking on Saturday at the inauguration of the company’s women-only residential complex near Foxconn’s plant.

Padma Bhushan awardee Liu said that during his current visit to the country, he met the Chief Ministers of several states and felt that India is moving towards progress. This is Liu’s first visit to India after being awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, on the eve of the 75th Republic Day this year. Liu began his nearly week-long visit to India on Wednesday with a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He discussed with the Prime Minister Foxconn’s investments in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana.

Liu also met the Chief Ministers and state ministers of these three states. The company’s women’s residential complex was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. During the inauguration, Liu said that the company employs employees without any gender discrimination, but women in India, especially married women, have contributed significantly to its efforts. The Foxconn chairman said that there is a trend of increase in all types of hiring by Taiwan’s leading electronics manufacturing company in India.
