Suzuki Motors will set up 5 bio CNG plants in Banaskantha in Gujarat in collaboration with Banas Dairy in the next one year. Suzuki Motors chose Banaskantha because for the last 5 years, Banas Dairy has done successful experiments in the field of BIO-CNG, which has become a benchmark today. At a farmers’ conference held in Banaskantha, Suzuki Motor Corporation Chief Executive Officer Toshihiro Suzuki unveiled the ‘Bhoomi Amrit’ brand logo. Also launched nutrient-rich liquid organic fertilizer ‘Power Plus’ produced by Banas Biogas Plant.
MoU signed
On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between Suzuki Research and Development in India (SRDI), Toyohashi University scientists and Banas Dairy. The aim of this collaboration is to set up five biogas plants in the Tharad region of North Gujarat. These plants aim to promote rural mobility and job creation. For this, five Maruti Suzuki Eco minivans will be leased to each of the two villages. These Eco minivans will run on biogas CNG, which symbolizes the concept of green and clean energy. Biogas CNG will be supplied through biogas filling stations to be set up in the region. While organic manure will be produced by biogas plants owned by Banas Dairy.
Govardhan Project
Banas Dairy Chairman Shankarbhai Chaudhary expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership and guidance on the occasion. He highlighted the efforts of Banas Dairy under the Govardhan Project, which aims to provide clean fuel and organic manure. Chaudhary also informed that based on the success of this pilot project, additional biogas plants will be set up across Banaskantha district.
