The best thing is that in this loan, the responsibility of guarantee on 70 to 75 percent of the loan amount will also be taken. With this, now even a child from a poor family will be able to do skill development courses. For this, the government launched the revised skill loan scheme on Thursday.
25,000 students will benefit every year
In the revised skill loan scheme, the government will provide loan facility of up to Rs 7.5 lakh. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the introduction of the Model Skill Loan Scheme in a revised form in the budget presented on Tuesday this week. This measure is expected to help 25,000 students every year. On the occasion of the launch of the scheme, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Jayant Chaudhary told reporters that earlier the limit of skill loan was only up to Rs 1.5 lakh. It has now been increased to Rs 7.5 lakh.
No guarantee required for loan
Chaudhary said that apart from this, earlier only scheduled banks were included, whereas now regional rural banks, NBFCs etc. have also been linked to this scheme. Later the minister wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “The launch of the Model Skill Loan Scheme is a milestone for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Under this, financial assistance will be given to the youth for cutting-edge skills. Under the scheme, loans up to Rs 7.5 lakh will be given for many eligible courses. No guarantee will be required for the loan. “
