SJVN, NHPC and SECI get Navratna Company status, know what will benefit

The government on Friday gave the status of Navratna to public sector companies (PSU)- NHPC, SJVN and ‘Seki’. NHPC said in a statement, “As per the order issued by the Department of Public Enterprises of the Ministry of Finance on August 30, 2024, NHPC has been declared a ‘Navratna Company’, which will lead to more operations and financial autonomy.” NHPC Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) RK Chaudhary said, “This is a historic moment for NHPC and recognizes our remarkable financial and operational achievements. NHPC has been an important company in the Indian power sector and has played an important role in exploiting the hydropower capacity of the country. ” The Mini Ratna was working as a category-1 unit under the NHPC Ministry of Power, Faridabad. Chaudhary said that the company has also diversity in Pawan and Solar Energy Options.

SJVN also gets Navratna status
Meanwhile, Shimla -based SJVN said that it too has got the status of Navratna from the government. The company said in the information to the stock market, “The Department of Public Enterprises of the Finance Ministry has given its letter number PD-i26/ 0004/2024- DPE dated 30 August, 2024, SJVN Limited has given the status of ‘Navratna’ to SJVN Limited. ” SJVN Limited is a mini gem, Category-1 and Schedule-A ‘CPSE. It was included on May 24, 1988 as a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh (GOHP).

The new and renewable Ministry of Energy (MNRE) said in a statement that the government has also given the status of Navratna to Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (Seki). Seki under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is a nodal agency of the central government to auction renewable energy projects.
