Bollywood stars’ blood boils over Kolkata rape case, demands justice from Mamata Banerjee

Several celebrities including Vijay Verma, Ayushmann Khurrana, Malaika Arora, Richa Chadha, Parineeti Chopra and Sonakshi Sinha reacted to the protests following the tragic rape and murder of a lady doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital and demanded a CBI inquiry and justice from Mamata Banerjee in the case. The incident has created a wave of outrage on social media and among people, with students, activists, politicians and celebrities expressing their disappointment over the appalling state of women’s safety in India.

Actor Vijay Verma shared a video on Instagram and wrote, ‘At least, protect our protectors.’ Vijay has shared another post, which read, ‘We should focus on the fact that the doctor was mistreated.’

Actress Parineeti Chopra has shared a post reacting to the Kolkata rape case and wrote, ‘If it’s too hard for you to read this, imagine what it must have been like for her. Disgusting. Horrible. Hang her by her b***.’

Sharing a video, Sonakshi Sinha wrote, ‘Raise your voice. Demand justice in the Kolkata rape case.’

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has also shared a post on Instagram, reacting to the tragic rape and murder case of this Kolkata lady doctor.

Richa Chadha wrote, ‘The women of this country expect a fair investigation and justice from you @MamataOfficial. You are the only woman to currently hold the post of Chief Minister. #JusticeForMoumita.’
