‘Emergency’ did not get relief from Bombay High Court, disappointed Kangana Ranaut posted- ‘I am on target’

Bollywood actress and Lok Sabha member from Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh Kangana Ranaut will have to wait longer to see her film ‘Emergency’. Because, the Bombay High Court has refused to give any relief on this matter. On September 4, the Bombay High Court heard the petition of the film’s co-producer Zee Studio and said that it cannot give any direction to the CBFC regarding the issuance of the certificate, as the Madhya Pradesh court has already ordered the censor board to decide on the concerns raised by Jabalpur Sikh Sangat.

That is, Emergency will have to wait longer for the certificate. The makers of the film had appealed to the Bombay High Court seeking certification for their film. Bombay HC said in its decision that it cannot direct the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) to issue a certificate as it would contradict the decision of the MP High Court. The MP court directed the censor board to hear the representations of Sikh groups who had filed petitions before it. The court requested that the CBFC give its decision by September 18, the next hearing will be on September 19.

Hearing an urgent plea by Zee Entertainment for the release of Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’, the Bombay High Court on Wednesday said – “How can these groups (Sikh groups) know without seeing it that a film is upsetting some people? Maybe it was based on a trailer. Also, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the CBFC to address the concerns of Sikh groups. If we (Bombay High Court) direct them to issue a certificate, we will ask them to violate the decision of another High Court, “We must follow the order of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.”

Kangana Ranaut is also very disappointed at the film not getting relief. After the decision of the Bombay High Court, Kangana Ranaut has shared a long post, in which she says that she is on everyone’s target. Kangana wrote in her post – ‘Today I have become everyone’s favorite target, this is the price you pay for waking up this sleeping nation, they Don’t know what I am talking about. They don’t know why I am so concerned, because they want peace, they don’t want to take sides. Ha ha, I wish that poor soldier on the border also got the same privilege to stay calm, I wish he didn’t have to take sides, and didn’t have to consider Pakistanis/Chinese as his enemy. He is protecting you while you can lust after terrorists or anti-nationals.’

The Sikh community had protested against the film and also threatened its release, due to which the film got embroiled in controversies even before its release and the matter reached the court.
