Krishnamurthy’s manager and secretary Ganesh has informed PTI Bhasha about this. Yamini Krishnamurthy’s fans and people from the industry are paying emotional tribute to her by sharing posts on social media. At the same time, after receiving the news of her death, the Sangeet Natak Academy has also shared an emotional note with a photo paying tribute to her on its x account.

Famous Bharatnatyam dancer Yamini Krishnamurthy was battling illness for a long time and today she finally said goodbye to the world forever. She died in Apollo Hospital due to age-related diseases. Secretary Ganesh told PTI, “She was suffering from age-related problems and was undergoing treatment for the last seven months. She was shifted to the ICU a few days ago due to severe discomfort.” Krishnamurthy’s body will be brought to her institute ‘Yamini School of Dance’ at 9 am on Sunday, August 4.

She was also famous among the people as the torch bearer of the ‘Kuchipudi’ dance form.
