Kalki 2898 AD Breaks Jawan Record: Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone’s film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has created another new history in terms of earnings on Sunday. Kalki has now become the highest-grossing Indian film on the opening weekend in India.
Kalki breaks Jawan’s record
Kalki 2898 AD has broken the big record of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Jawaan’ released in the year 2023. According to Bollywood Hungama, Jawaan was the highest-grossing Indian film in the first weekend in India with earnings of Rs 286.16 crore. But now this crown has adorned the head of Kalki 2898 AD.
Kalki has broken Jawan’s record on the fourth day of its release i.e. Sunday. According to the report of Saccanilk, Kalki’s collection at the Indian box office on Sunday has reached Rs 300.6 crore till 10:20 pm. Kalki has left Jawaan in the dust. However, these are initial figures. There may be changes in them now.
Kalki also beat Pathan
Kalki 2898 AD has beaten Shah Rukh’s Jawaan as well as his another film ‘Pathan’. Pathan was the second highest grossing film after Jawaan at the domestic box office in the first weekend. Pathan’s first weekend collection was Rs 280.75 crore. Kalki has simultaneously shattered the records of both Pathan and Jawaan.
The film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone was released worldwide on June 27 in five languages including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The film earned more than Rs 191 crore worldwide on the first day. Its opening day collection at the Indian box office was Rs 95.3 crores.
Second and third day India collection
While on the second day, the film’s collection saw a 39.56% drop. But still the film’s collection broke records. The film earned Rs 57.6 crores on the second day in India. On the third day, i.e. Saturday, the film’s collection saw a jump. On Saturday, its collection at the Indian box office was recorded at Rs 64.5 crores.
Sunday is Kalki’s fourth day in theatres and the last day of the opening weekend. The film’s streak of making money is still continuing. The film has earned Rs 83.2 crores so far on the fourth day.
