The film has finally released, read its full review and decide whether you should watch the sequel of Stree or not. While, two other options are available in theaters, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and John Abraham’s ‘Veda’.
Story
Stree 2 moves forward from some of the events that happened before it. After Stree left the city, the people of Chanderi are living in peace and men and women can now move freely at any time. But their happiness does not last long as the new devil, Sarkata, arrives and Chanderi is once again in panic. One day, Rudra (Pankaj Tripathi) receives a letter from an unknown person which contains some important information about Sarkata and his relationship with Chanderi. But, he ignores the letter and keeps it somewhere in his bookstore. There have been a few cases of kidnapping of young girls and people are now terrorised by the new devil in town.
The people of Chanderi are now looking for a permanent solution to get rid of Sarkata. Vicky (Rajkummar Rao), who is still in touch with Stree, asks her for a solution to this problem. Later, Vicky goes to Rudra and asks him to show the letter he received recently and then they read what it says about Sarkata. The story of the film continues with Vicky’s gang which includes Bittu (Aparshakti Khurana) and Jana (Abhishek Banerjee), Stree and Rudra trying everything possible to get rid of Sarkata. Performance
The highlight of Stree 2 is its lead actors and their justification with the characters. From Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi to Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana, everyone will win your heart with their perfect comedy timing and brilliant acting. There is not a single scene in Stree 2 that will make you feel bored with any of these characters as they get better and better as the story progresses.
Apart from the lead actors, Stree 2, three to be precise, also has a few cameos that add excitement and give more energy to those scenes. Some of these scenes will even garner applause from the audience inside the theatres.
Direction
Amar Kaushik has done his job well as a director and he deserves praise. He has used the cast and even the cameos so well that you will not get bored in any scene. Not just the actors, he has presented the story in such a brilliant way on the big screen that you will definitely not want to miss a single sequence. The VFX used in Stree 2 is also of a top level.
Music
Stree 2 does not have many songs but what will grab your attention is Tamannaah Bhatia’s song ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ which is already hitting the charts. The background music of the film is also a positive aspect of it, which is very important for a horror genre film.
Verdict
With a great story, acting performance and beautiful direction, Stree 2 is without a doubt one of the best films of 2024. The VFX in the film will also not disappoint you and the scary scenes are definitely going to give you nightmares. If you have seen the OG film, then you should not have a dilemma in your mind whether to watch it or not. If horror or comedy is your favorite genre, then you can definitely watch ‘Stree 2’.
