People often have the problem of bloating and constipation during and after traveling. Sitting for hours during travel sometimes spoils the digestive system, which can cause constipation. Let us tell you, this digestive condition occurs when you have not had a bowel movement for a few days. Also, this problem can occur due to not having a bowel movement during travel. Actually, many people complain of constipation due to not getting food and water at the right time during travel, not getting enough sleep and changing places. This condition is called travel constipation in medical language. In such a situation, instead of taking medicine, try these home remedies. Ayurvedic doctor Diksha is telling some effective tips to get rid of traveling constipation.

Follow these tips:

Stay hydrated: Drink a lot of water so that you do not have to face constipation during travel. If you are travelling to a cold place, drink at least 5 glasses of water. If you are travelling to a hot place, drink 7-8 glasses of water.

Walk: Practice exercise, yoga and pranayama for at least 30 minutes every morning. If possible, walk 5000 steps a day.

Drink warm water (green tea): Drinking 1 glass of warm water in the morning and at night before sleeping helps in easy bowel movement. So start your morning with green tea instead of bread or fried foods.

Eat healthy food: Eat fruits like banana, papaya and local fruits. Have a light breakfast. Make sure you do not eat maida in breakfast. Have a heavy meal in lunch like – roti, parantha, curry, salad and buttermilk. Eat dinner very light and early. Salad or soup is best for dinner.

Carry digestive tablets: Pudina Vati, Amla Candy, Hajmola and Hing Vati are the best Ayurvedic digestives. Suck them whenever you feel bloated or heavy in the stomach. Take 1 tsp of ghee with warm water in the morning or at night. It works great. If you still feel constipated or bloated, carry Triphala churna or tablet (for mild constipation) and Haritaki/Harad tablet or powder (for severe constipation) with you.
