Baking Soda – Apart from cleaning, baking soda is also used to remove rust. To remove rust from iron utensils, make a solution by mixing 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice in 2 cups of hot water. Apply it on the rusted utensil or place with the help of a brush and leave it like that for 5 minutes. Later clean it by rubbing it with sand paper. This will clean the rust.

Rub lemon- Lemon is used for cleaning purposes. It helps in removing stains. You can easily remove rust stains or rust on any utensil or item with lemon. Lemon contains acid which works as a natural cleaner. Mix some salt in lemon and rub it. Then clean after 10 minutes, the rust will be removed.

Paint- After cleaning in this way, let the rusted area dry thoroughly. When that item or area dries in a day or two, paint it. You can use rust proof paint available in the market or any kind of door paint. This will not spread the rust nor will it spoil the item.

Protect it from moisture- Iron rusts the most due to moisture. Therefore, keep things in the sun. Protect it from wet places. If any iron item gets wet, keep it in a ventilated place and dry it thoroughly. This reduces the risk of rusting. You can also paint the item for protection.
