NEET SS exam will not be held, Supreme Court dismisses petition challenging NMC’s decision

The Supreme Court’s decision has come regarding the NEET SS exam. NEET Super Specialty exam will not be conducted this year. The Supreme Court has dismissed the petition challenging the decision of the National Medical Commission (NMC) not to conduct the NEET-Super Specialty exam this year. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra termed the NMC’s decision as ‘quite justified’ and refused to change the exam calendar.

The apex court on July 19 issued a notice to the NMC on a petition filed by 13 doctors including Rahul Balwan. The court has asked the commission to issue a new schedule for the exam and conduct the medical exam next year.

What is NEET SS exam?

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Super Specialty or NEET SS is a post graduate super specialty medical entrance exam. This medical entrance exam is conducted by the National Board of Examinations for admission to super specialty postgraduation courses like MD, MS and DNB or equivalent qualification.
