Today, NTA has released the revised result of NEET UG after the order of the Supreme Court. Candidates who appeared in this exam can download it by visiting the official website exam.nta.ac.in/NEET. In such a situation, where earlier 67 candidates were toppers, they have now come down to 17. Now the result data will be used for admission in various graduate medical courses. The institutes will prepare a merit list based on the All India Rank for MBBS/BDS seats falling under their jurisdiction.
Category has to be mentioned
Sharing details about the admission process, NTA said that when candidates apply in their state, they have to mention their category as per the state category list. The state counseling authorities will prepare their merit list accordingly. The same situation is in the case of domicile as well. NTA has no role in this. Counselling will be done in 4 phases
The counseling process for NEET UG will have 4 phases – there will be three rounds while there will be one stray vacancy round. Keep in mind that registrations for NEET counseling will be available only for three rounds, while the stray vacancy round will be for already registered candidates. Let us tell you that the counseling process will start soon.
It is expected that the admission process for various graduate medical courses in all medical institutes will start soon. However, the announcement of the counseling schedule is awaited. Candidates interested in admission in medical courses will be able to get all the information related to the counseling process on the official website of MCC, mcc.nic.in.
So many seats for All India Quota seats
According to the information shared by NTA, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) of the Government of India will conduct counseling for All India Quota seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, ESIC and 15% seats of AFMC, BHU and AMU. Candidates will be able to apply for 15% All India Quota seats as per the instructions of DGHS and counseling will be stopped after the seats are exhausted. The details and schedule of counseling will be available on the websites of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Directorates of Medical Education of the states.
Also, NEET counseling 2024 for each state will start separately for 85% seats in government colleges and 100% seats in private colleges. NEET counseling will be based on the rank obtained in the NEET exam.
