Water on Moon: Chinese scientists have achieved great success! ‘Water’ discovered in samples brought from the moon

Water on Moon: Chinese scientists have achieved great success. A new type of molecular structure has been discovered in the moon samples brought to Earth by China’s Chang’e 5 mission, which contains water. According to a report by China’s state media CGTN, earlier evidence has shown that water or water ice is present on the surface of the moon in the form of hydroxyl groups. Now scientists of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have found a hydrated mineral with 6 molecules of crystalline water.

This study has been published in the journal Nature Astronomy. Scientists have said that this discovery has provided information about the actual form of water molecules and ammonium on the surface of the moon, i.e. in what form it is present. The special thing is that the structure of the mineral discovered is very similar to the mineral found near the volcanoes of the Earth.

This research has potentially revealed that water molecules may be present on the surface of the moon in the form of hydrated salts. These hydrates are present in the high altitude areas of the moon as well as in those areas where sunlight comes. Researchers say that this discovery will open new possibilities for the development of water resources on the moon in the future.

It is worth noting that China is continuously sending its missions to the moon. Just last month, China’s robotic Chang’e 6 mission returned to Earth after collecting samples from the far region of the moon. The far region of the moon is a place which is not visible from the Earth. For the first time in the world, a moon mission returned to Earth with samples from that place. Chinese scientists hope that the Chang’e 6 mission will also collect new information about the moon.
