65,000 students are being taught

Government and aided schools of Goa are also teaching coding and robotics to the students along with traditional subjects. In these schools of Goa, about 65,000 students are learning the tricks of coding and robotics at an early age under the ambitious skill development program of the government. The objective of this program is to prepare school students for the future.

Chief Minister gave information in the Assembly
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant recently informed the Assembly that the state government is implementing the ‘Coding and Robotics Education in Schools’ (CARES) scheme to equip school students with new skills so that they are ready for the industry. Sawant had said that the scheme has been successfully implemented in government and aided schools and now the students are getting praise at the national and international level.

Bringing coding and robotics education to rural schools of Goa

Training given during the Covid-19 pandemic
The Chief Minister had said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, computer teachers of all schools in Goa were trained to become ‘master trainers’. Under this scheme, coding and robotics equipment are being given to schools free of cost. Dr. Vijay Borges, Director of the CARES Project of the Goa Government, said that this scheme has been implemented in all middle schools for the last 4 years, targeting 65,000 students. Engineering experts have been appointed as fellows for this.
