Airtel has decided to shut down its music streaming platform Wynk Music. On this music streaming app of Airtel, users can enjoy online music just like platforms like Spotity, JioSaavn, Youtube Music, Amazon Music, Apple Music. Apart from this, the company has partnered with Apple and offered special offers for Apple TV+ and Apple Music.
Wynk Music app will be closed
According to a PTI report, Bharti Airtel has decided to exit the music segment. The company will soon shut down its Wink Music app. According to sources, the company will accommodate all the employees of Wink Music. A source associated with the company told PTI, “Airtel is planning to shut down Wink Music in the next few months. It will accommodate all its employees in the company. “This information has also been confirmed by an Airtel spokesperson.
An Airtel spokesperson told PTI, “We confirm that Wink Music will be shut down and all employees of Wink Music will be absorbed into the Airtel group. Airtel users will get access to Apple Music.” He said that premium users of Wink will be given a special offer from Airtel for Apple. The company has partnered with its iPhone users for Apple Music.
Partnership for Apple TV+
Apart from this, Airtel users will also be given a special offer for Apple TV+. The company has partnered with Apple for this bundled service. Users will get special offers on Apple Music and Apple TV+ with their prepaid and postpaid plans. Airtel XStream users will be offered Apple TV+ content in select Wi-Fi plans. The company is already offering subscription of OTT apps like Amazon Prime Video, Sony LIV, Disney+ Hotstar and Netflix to users. Now they will also start getting access to Apple TV+.
