Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been requested to help the government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), which has been facing difficulties for the last few years. The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has said that the presence of BSNL is important to control the dominance of private telecom companies in pricing.
According to a media report, BMS has requested in a letter to Prime Minister Modi that the central government should ensure that BSNL is allowed to use 4G and 5G equipment from international vendors until indigenous technology is developed. The letter states, “We understand the importance of self-reliant India in telecom and support it. Along with this, we believe that BSNL needs to get permission to upgrade its existing infrastructure until indigenous technology is developed, so that it can launch services.” Recently the company has started 4G service.
BMS General Secretary, Ravindra Himte has said in this letter that the presence of BSNL as a telecom company providing 4G and 5G services is in the interest of the country and the common people. He has told that due to the absence of new mobile services, the company is losing a large number of subscribers and its financial condition, employees and common people are getting affected. Recently, big telecom companies Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel had increased tariffs by 11 percent to 25 percent.
In the last financial year, BSNL’s revenue from operations increased marginally to Rs 19,343.6 crore. However, it has been less than the target of Rs 20,000 crore set by the central government. In the last financial year, the company’s revenue from cellular services and enterprise segment has decreased. Its expenses decreased by about 2.5 percent to Rs 26,683 crore. However, the company’s employee cost increased by 4.4 percent to Rs 8,034 crore. Recently, BSNL had issued a tender of about Rs 65,000 crore for the third phase of the BharatNet project. Under this project, internet connectivity will be provided to more than two lakh gram panchayats.

एक मीडिया रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, BMS ने प्रधानमंत्री मोदी को लिखे पत्र में निवेदन किया है कि केंद्र सरकार यह सुनिश्चित करे कि BSNL को स्वदेशी टेक्नोलॉजी के डिवेलप होने तक इंटरनेशनल वेंडर्स से 4G और 5G से जुड़े इक्विपमेंट के इस्तेमाल की अनुमति हो। इस पत्र में कहा गया है, “हम टेलीकॉम में आत्मनिर्भर भारत का महत्व समझते हैं और इसका समर्थन करते हैं। इसके साथ ही हमारा मानना है कि BSNL को स्वदेशी टेक्नोलॉजी के डिवेलप होने तक उसके मौजूदा इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर को अपग्रेड करने की अनुमति मिलना जरूरी है, जिससे यह सर्विसेज को लॉन्च कर सके।” हाल ही में कंपनी ने 4G सर्विस शुरू की है।
BMS के महासचिव, Ravindra Himte ने इस पत्र में कहा है कि 4G और 5G सर्विसेज देने वाली टेलीकॉम कंपनी के तौर पर BSNL की मौजूदगी देश और सामान्य लोगों के हित में है। उन्होंने बताया है कि नई मोबाइल सर्विसेज की गैर मौजूदगी के कारण कंपनी को बड़ी संख्या में सब्सक्राइबर्स का नुकसान हो रहा है और इसकी वित्तीय स्थिति, कर्मचारियों और सामान्य लोगों पर असर पड़ रहा है। हाल ही में बड़ी टेलीकॉम कंपनियों Reliance Jio और Bharti Airtel ने टैरिफ में 11 प्रतिशत से 25 प्रतिशत की बढ़ोतरी की थी।
पिछले वित्त वर्ष में BSNL का ऑपरेशंस से रेवेन्यू मामूली बढ़कर 19,343.6 करोड़ रुपये का था। हालांकि, यह केंद्र सरकार की ओर से तय किए गए 20,000 करोड़ रुपये के लक्ष्य से कम रहा है। पिछले वित्त वर्ष में कंपनी का सेल्युलर सर्विसेज और एंटरप्राइज सेगमेंट से रेवेन्यू घटा है। इसके खर्च लगभग 2.5 प्रतिशत घटकर 26,683 करोड़ रुपये के रहे। हालांकि, कंपनी की एंप्लॉयी कॉस्ट 4.4 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 8,034 करोड़ रुपये पर पहुंच गई। हाल ही में BSNL ने BharatNet प्रोजेक्ट के तीसरे फेज के लिए लगभग 65,000 करोड़ रुपये का टेंडर जारी किया था। इस प्रोजेक्ट के तहत दो लाख से अधिक ग्राम पंचायतों को इंटरनेट कनेक्टिविटी उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी।
