Most of the digital transactions in India are done through UPI. Every year the number of payments made through UPI is touching new records. However, still a large section does not use UPI payment. NPCI, the agency monitoring digital payments in India, is soon going to make a major upgrade in the UPI payment system. Users will no longer need to remember the PIN code to make UPI payments. They will be able to make UPI payments by showing their face or by putting their thumb.

NPCI Extends UPI Volume Cap Deadline by 2 Years Till Dec 2024

A recent report has claimed that the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) is talking to several companies about UPI payments using the biometrics of smartphones. In such a situation, soon users will not need to remember the PIN or code for any UPI payment. Users will also be able to make online payments using the biometric features of their smartphones.

UPI payment will be done without PIN
For example, if you have to make UPI payment to someone, then you will not need to enter UPI PIN. You will be able to use the biometric lock of your smartphone to make online payment. NPCI is exploring new technology to curb the increasing cyber crime these days. Currently, users are using apps like PhonePe, Amazon Pay, PayTm in their smartphones to make UPI payment.

Crores of users using UPI may have difficulty remembering a 6 digit PIN or code. Due to this upgraded UPI system of NPCI, users will now be able to make payment by putting their thumb or showing their face. In the coming days, this facility can prove to be very useful for UPI users.
