India-US partnership will be strengthened, Deputy Foreign Minister Richard R. Verma is coming on a 5-day visit to New Delhi

Washington: The friendship between India and America is going to be stronger now. For this, Deputy Foreign Minister (Management and Resources) of the US State Department, Richard R. Verma is coming to India on a 5-day visit from August 17. During this, he will hold talks on supporting the prosperous, secure and resilient future of both the countries and further advancing it. The aim of the US is to make its strategic relations with India the strongest to stop the increasing bullying of China in the South China Sea.

The US State Department statement said that top Indian-American diplomat R. Verma will lead a US delegation to India between August 17 and 22, which will meet senior government officials, leaders in the climate sector, aerospace academics and representatives of the industry. So that the US-India partnership can be taken forward on issues including economic development, clean energy and climate action. It said Verma will be accompanied by John Podesta, Senior Advisor to the President for International Climate Policy in India, and David Turk, Deputy Secretary of the US Department of Energy.

R Verma is currently on a visit to Nepal
R Verma is currently visiting Nepal, where a new government was formed last month under the leadership of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Verma, 55, who has served as the US Ambassador to India, is the highest-ranking Indian-American ever in the State Department. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday named Verma as the US Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Reforms in addition to his current position.
