Las Vegas: The political temperature is rising in America regarding the presidential election. Kamala Harris, the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, promised the public on Saturday that she would work towards eliminating taxes on tips given to restaurant workers and other service employees. Before Harris, her rival Donald Trump has also made a similar promise to the public during his election campaign.
What did Harris say?
Kamala Harris said in her address in Las Vegas, “My promise to everyone is that when I become president, we will continue our fight for the working families of America. This includes raising the minimum wage and eliminating taxes on tips given to service and hospitality workers.”
Trump reacted
Shortly after Harris’ speech, Trump reacted to this on his social media account. He alleged that Harris “copied my ‘no tax on tip policy’.” The former president wrote, “The only difference is that she will not do anything like this. She is saying this only for political purposes. He claimed, “It was Trump’s idea. She (Harris) has no ideas, she can only copy my ideas.”

Interestingly, both the presidential candidates are saying almost the same thing in their election campaign. Harris made this announcement in a rally at the University of Nevada campus in Las Vegas. The economy of Las Vegas is largely dependent on the hotel, restaurant and entertainment industries. Trump also said more or less the same thing in a rally in June, but the reality is that without the support of Congress (Parliament), neither Trump nor Harris can take this step.
