US Presidential Election: Will PM Modi’s program to address the Indian community in New York increase the anxiety of Trump-Harris?

New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to New York before the presidential election to be held in the US in November. He also has a program to connect with the Indian expatriate community here. Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Kamala Harris are both close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kamala Harris is of Indian origin, while Trump is Modi’s best friend. In such a situation, both the candidates have a lot of expectations from PM Modi. Both the candidates know that there is a tremendous craze for PM Modi among the Indian immigrants. Modi can turn these voters in whichever direction he wants. But Trump and Harris are anxious thinking in whose favor he will appeal.

In fact, PM Modi will also have a tough challenge this time as to which candidate he will inspire the Indian immigrants for. Currently, more than 24,000 members of New York have signed up to participate in a huge community program, which will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here next month. The event titled ‘Modi and US Progress Together’ will be held on September 22 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Collegium. It has a seating capacity of 15,000 people.

Eyes on PM Modi’s program

All eyes are on this program of Prime Minister Modi in view of the US presidential election. However, this is not a political program. The Indo-American Community of USA (IACU) said on Tuesday that more than 24,000 Indian-Americans have signed up to participate in this mega event which will be addressed by Prime Minister Modi. Modi is scheduled to address a high-level session of the United Nations General Assembly here on September 26. The IACU said that Indian-Americans from at least 42 states are expected to participate in this program. A key organiser of the event said, “We are committed to ensuring that as many people as possible can attend this historic event.”

IACU said that the aim of the ‘Modi and US’ event is to organize an important gathering celebrating the diversity of the Indian-American community. Apart from the speech of Prime Minister Modi, the event will also have cultural performances and prominent Indian-Americans from the fields of industry, science, entertainment and arts will participate in it.
