New York: World’s leading IT company Microsoft has claimed that Iran is accelerating online activities, which appear to be aimed at influencing the US election. The company said that in one case, the presidential election campaign is being targeted through an ’email phishing’ attack. The attempt to steal personal or your online account information is called ‘phishing’. For this, fraudulent emails, messages, advertisements or sites that look like the sites you are already using are used.
Iran denies
Meanwhile, Iran’s UN mission has denied that it has any plans to interfere in the US presidential election or carry out cyber attacks. The world’s leading IT company has not said anything about Iran’s intentions other than spreading chaos in America in its explosive claim about Iran. US officials, however, had earlier indicated that Iran particularly opposes former US President Donald Trump. The report also reveals how Russia and China are taking advantage of US political polarization to advance their divisive message in the future.

Microsoft’s report identified four examples of recent activity in Iran, which the company expects to increase as the November election approaches. Microsoft said it has been monitoring how foreign enemies are using AI technology. This week, the Justice Department unveiled criminal charges against a Pakistani man with ties to Iran, who is accused of plotting to assassinate several officials, possibly including Trump.
Iran itself has been a victim
Iran’s UN mission said in an email to the Associated Press, “Iran itself has been the victim of several offensive cyber campaigns targeting its infrastructure, public service centers and industries. Iran’s cyber capabilities are defensive. Iran has neither any intention nor any plan to launch a cyber attack. The US presidential election is an internal matter in which Iran does not interfere.”
