Zelensky called Trump, the former president said – we will help in ending the “Russia-Ukraine war”, not in continuing it

Washington: The US President may have been helping Ukraine to keep fighting Russia, but former President Donald Trump’s thinking is very different from him in this matter. Trump has said that if he becomes president, he will also help Zelensky. But Trump’s help will be to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Zelensky suddenly called former President Trump and condemned the attack on him and congratulated him on becoming the presidential candidate. Trump said that he had a phone conversation with President Vladimir Zelensky. In the conversation, he has assured him of cooperation in ending the Russia-Ukraine war. Zelensky called Trump on Friday to congratulate him on getting the Republican Party’s nomination for the proposed presidential election in November in the US.

Trump said in a post on the social media platform ‘Truth Social’, “Ukrainian President Zelensky and I had a very good conversation on the phone this morning. He congratulated me on the successful organization of the Republican National Convention and on getting the Republican Party’s nomination for the US presidential election.” Zelensky’s phone call is important because this is Trump’s first conversation with a foreign leader after he was chosen as the Republican Party’s presidential candidate. This underlines the growing sense of the international community about Trump’s chances of winning the presidential elections proposed in November.

Trump praised Zelensky for calling
Trump said, “I appreciate President Zelensky for contacting me on the phone, because as the next President of the United States, I will once again establish peace in the world and end the war that has killed so many people and destroyed countless innocent families. Both sides will come together to negotiate a peace agreement, which will end the violence and pave the way for prosperity.” The former president said that during the phone conversation, Zelensky condemned the deadly attack on him at a meeting last Saturday. Zelensky said in a post on ‘X’ that he spoke to Trump over the phone to congratulate him on becoming the Republican Party’s candidate for the presidential election and to condemn the deadly attack in Pennsylvania last week.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to America
Zelensky wrote, “I wished him well in the future. I underlined America’s important bipartisan and bicameral support to protect our country’s independence.” He said, “Ukraine will always be grateful to America for helping to increase our ability to counter Russian terror. Russian attacks on our cities and villages continue. We agreed to hold a face-to-face meeting with (former) President Trump to discuss what measures should be taken to establish fair and lasting peace in the region.
