India amended the travel advisory issued regarding Libya, gave this advice to the citizens

New Delhi: India has issued a travel advisory asking its citizens to “avoid non-essential travel” to Libya. This advisory is a partial amendment to the travel advisory issued in 2016, in which Indian citizens were banned from traveling to this African country. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that Indian citizens in Libya are advised to “exercise caution” and avoid traveling from one province to another by road, as well as stay in touch with the Indian Embassy in Tripoli.

According to the statement, the Ministry of External Affairs’ press release of 23 May 2016 has been partially amended, in which Indian citizens were banned from traveling to Libya. It said, “In response to our assessment of the current security situation in Libya, Indian citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel to Libya.”

Indian High Commission in London issued advisory
Earlier, the Indian High Commission in London had issued a travel advisory and warned Indian travelers about traveling to the United Kingdom. The Indian High Commission in London had said that tourists coming from India are advised to be alert and take precautions while traveling to the UK.
