Cairo/Jerusalem: The Israeli army has carried out another major air strike in Gaza. Palestinian health officials said that at least 30 Palestinians were killed in this Israeli attack on a school in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. More than 100 people have been injured. After the attack, the Israeli army said that it had targeted the Hamas command center. The Gaza Health Ministry and the Hamas-run government media office put the number of people killed in the attack on the school in Deir al-Balah at least 30. The place where the attack took place is one of the most populated areas of displaced families.
The Israeli army said in a statement that it had targeted the “Hamas command and control center inside the Khadija school complex in central Gaza”. The Israeli army said that the school was being used by Hamas terrorists to launch attacks against our soldiers and as a weapons store. Civilians were warned before the attack. Ambulances in Deir al-Balah took injured Palestinians to the medical facility at Al-Aqsa Hospital. Some of the injured also came on foot, their clothes were stained with blood.
Israel blames Hamas
The Israeli army has blamed Hamas terrorists for the deaths of civilians. The army says that it had made the school a hideout of terror, so it was attacked. The Israeli army has accused Hamas of acting as a cover in densely populated areas, schools and hospitals. At the same time, Hamas has denied Israel’s allegations. Earlier on Saturday, Palestinian official media said that at least 14 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks since morning in the southern city of Khan Younis and their bodies were brought to the Nasser Medical Complex. The Israeli army asked Palestinians to temporarily vacate areas southern Khan Younis so it could “act with force” there, and asked them to move to a humanitarian zone in al-Mawasi, a military statement said.
