Moscow: A passenger train derailed in the southern Volgograd region of Russia on Monday. More than 100 people were injured in the accident. More than 800 people were on board the train. Before the accident, the train collided with a truck. However, there is no news of any casualties in the accident. Officials have given information about this. According to Russia Today, this 20-coach train was going from Kazan in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia to the resort city of Adler near Sochi. The accident happened at around 12.30 pm local time.
813 passengers were on the train
Volgograd Region Governor Andrey Bocharov said in a statement that 9 coaches of the train have derailed. He said that 813 passengers were on board the train. According to several media reports, at least 110 passengers have been injured and about 16 have been hospitalised. The truck driver survived the accident, but has suffered head and leg injuries. Russia Today reported that an investigation into the incident has been launched.

The accident took place when the passenger train was going from Vorkuta in north-eastern Komi to the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. The distance between the two places is 5 thousand kilometres.
